The Union of Iranian Patriots in Thailand respects privacy rights and aims to follow internationally recognized good practices for the protection of personal information. This page explains how you may ask to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the personal information we hold about you.

Because our community may include people facing political or personal security risks, we treat data-rights requests carefully and may need to verify your identity before taking action.

This page applies to personal information collected through mihaninthai.org, including contact form messages, newsletter subscriptions, supporter communications, and user-submitted media or materials.

It does not apply to information you provide directly to third-party websites, social media platforms, payment providers, encrypted messaging services, or other services that are not operated by the Union.

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information, subject to limited retention needs described in our Privacy Policy.
• Withdrawal of consent: withdraw permission for future processing where processing is based on consent.
• Objection or restriction: ask us to stop or limit a specific use of your personal information.
• Portability: request a machine-readable copy of information you provided to us, where reasonably available.

These rights are not absolute. For example, we may need to retain limited records where necessary for website security, lawful administration, abuse prevention, or to protect the safety of our community.

Please submit privacy-related requests through the contact form on mihaninthai.org. To help us process your request, include the email address you used when contacting us, the type of request you are making, and enough detail for us to locate the relevant information.

Common request types include:

• Access my data

• Withdraw consent
• Object to processing
• Ask a privacy question

For urgent privacy or personal safety concerns, write “urgent privacy concern” clearly in your message.

Do not include sensitive details unless they are necessary for the request.

Before disclosing, correcting, or deleting personal information, we may ask you to verify that you control the email address or communication channel connected to the relevant record.

We will not ask for unnecessary identity documents. If stronger verification is needed because of the sensitivity of the request, we will explain why and request only what is reasonably necessary.

We aim to respond to all data-rights requests within 30 days of receiving a complete request. If a request is complex, unclear, or requires additional verification, we may ask for more information before completing it.

Newsletter unsubscribe requests are processed within 36 hours, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will delete or anonymize the relevant records unless limited retention is reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or resolving a request you made.

If you previously submitted images, video, audio, or other public-facing content, we will make reasonable efforts to remove or anonymize it from Union-controlled channels after a valid request. Content already shared, downloaded, archived, reposted, or indexed by third parties may not be fully removable by us.

If you are in Iran or another high-risk environment, please consider your personal safety before submitting any request. Use a trusted VPN, avoid unnecessary identifying details, and use secure communication methods where appropriate.

Your safety matters more than administrative completeness. If a request could expose you to risk, say so and we will handle the request with additional care.
